Walk along the 5.6kms of white sandy beach, and enjoy safe swimming, surfing, and diving. Observe the native dotterel and white breasted shag colonies.
Deer and pig hunting opportunities are available using Tidal Waters Loglodge as a base. Red and Fallow deer are commonly found within an hour’s drive from the Lodge, and goats run freely on surrounding areas to the Lodge.
Stay at Tidal Waters Loglodge and enjoy fishing the East Cape waters. The Lodge is situated minutes from the beach. Boats can be launched from the Tatapouri Sports Fishing Club ramp 35 minutes away.

Coming around that last corner off the beaten path… seeing our first glimpse of the majestic view, with the dramatic roofline of the log lodge superimposed on it just took our breath away! Jaye and her family were generous with their time, so friendly and patiently explaining parts of the culture that were mysterious to 2 American travellers. Highly recommend a stay here for magnificent sweeping views of the coast, a vast sandy beach just 10min walk down the road, and kiwi hospitality at its best.

Amazing, amazing, amazing! When I pulled up I knew one night wouldn’t be enough, so I was lucky enough to be able to book another night. I seriously can’t stop bragging about our stay here – the views, the serenity – the puppies – the rabbits – the perfect accommodation – how awesome Jaye and Brent are – did I mention the views??? – all of it!!! My dog, my 3-year-old son and myself thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, I will be def be back 🙂
